About Me

Animals have always been a priority in my life and although I worked as a Residential Social Worker I felt I had not reached my full potential and looked to steer my career in a new direction, to incorporate working with animals in which I knew I would excel.

I have a keen passion for understanding canine behaviour and have rescued many animals over the years. Currently five dogs have remained as family pets. Callum a Collie-Cross, Murphy a GSD, Connor a WSD, Fudge a Staffordshire Bull Terrier-Whippet Cross and Weasel a Jack Russel Terrier. All of these animals came to me with significant damages, but with much tlc, consistency and due to studying canine behaviour and having attended canine behaviour courses, we have achieved success to levels some would never of thought possible.

As part of the Cheshire Dog Display Team, "the cream of canine talent" for Mr Derek Williams of the Cheshire Canine Centre (MBIPDT, CFBA) from 2003-2007, I enjoyed and developed further, my team work attributes and have gained experience in working with the public during my dog handling displays.

I decided to develop this further which has led me to working as an individual, competing in competition Agility, Flyball, Obedience and Working Trials with each of my rescued dogs, gaining an excellent standard of qualifications in all disciplines ventured.

Below are just some examples of courses/seminars attended.

Canine confidence days with Derek Williams (MBIPDT, CFBA), Working trial training days with Catherine Phillips (BIPDT), Coping with competition anxiety, Dr Martain Eubank (C. Psychol), Rutland house-canine dermotology with Sue Patterson, Physiotherapy and injury prevention for your dog with Rachel Greetham and Suzanne Cottrell of Equine and Canine Solutions. I have attended a K9 FIRST AID course with Pet Education 4 U, members of the institute of learning.

I have also been awarded certification with the Kennel club good citizenship scheme. Achieving my bronze, silver and gold awards.

As a member of Live Wires flyball club, Wilmslow agility K.C registered club, Parkside agility club, NWWT (North West Working Trials) Society and "On track" dog training club, I have gained relevant experience and knowledge of canine behaviours and training techniques.

I have instructed at several agility clubs over the years. Currently I instruct on a regular basis at Parkside agility club, teaching handlers to further their abilities in this up and coming fun sport. We use positive reinforcement methods, to bring out the best in your pet.

I was asked by the Kennel Club to demonstrate agility in the activities arena at Crufts 2011.

I have an understanding of the dangerous dogs act 1991 and the revised copy 1997 and acknowledge and support it's function and purpose.

I hold an upto date CRB certificate and have public liability insurance.
